Delete your data
Swipture has no account and no server: what you read and write is stored only on your phone. To delete it:
- Open Swipture and tap Settings.
- Under Privacy, tap Delete My Data.
- Confirm. The deletion is immediate and can't be undone.
Deleted: your reading history and resume point, chapter progress, highlights, notes, collections, Pause & Reflect journal and reading plans. Favourites starts again empty.
Kept: your settings (translation, text and theme, reminder, Pause & Reflect) and your Premium purchase, so the app keeps working as you set it up. Uninstalling Swipture removes everything on the phone, settings included.
Data held by others. Purchases are recorded by Google Play and by RevenueCat (which confirms Premium) under an anonymous ID, with no name or email. Google's ad service receives the data described in our privacy policy; you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings. To have your RevenueCat purchase record deleted, email sevenstar.neeraj@gmail.com with the subject “Swipture data deletion”. We delete it within 30 days and reply to confirm. Google Play keeps its own purchase records under Google's policies. Premium can be restored later with Restore purchases.
Questions
Does Swipture work offline?
Yes. Every verse is stored on your device. Reading, listening, highlights, collections and reflections all work with no connection.
How does listening work?
Swipture reads scripture aloud with your device's own text-to-speech voice, so it works offline and there is nothing to download. If you hear nothing, check that a voice is installed in your device's text-to-speech settings.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Settings, then Manage subscription, opens your store's own subscription screen in one tap. Bought Premium before, on this phone or another? Use Restore purchases.
How do I delete my data?
Settings, then Privacy, then Delete My Data. It removes your reading history, progress, highlights, notes, collections and reflections from this device, and can't be undone.
How do I turn off Pause & Reflect?
In Settings, under Reading, switch Pause & reflect off or change how many verses pass between pauses. You can also tap "Adjust or turn off" on the pause itself.
How do I stop the daily reminder?
In Settings, under Notifications, switch the daily reminder off. No notification is scheduled while it is off.
Can I change translation?
Yes, in Settings, under Reading. Reading progress is kept separately for each translation, and switching never deletes anything. The Douay-Rheims numbers books and psalms differently, so it keeps its own place, and cross-references are shown only for the King James Version and World English Bible.
How do highlights and collections work?
Press and hold a verse to highlight it or save it to a collection, or tap a verse and use the buttons in the study panel. Your collections are in the Collections tab.
Why didn't my highlights move to my new phone?
Your reading data stays on the device where you created it. Swipture never backs it up to the cloud or copies it to a new phone, because we treat it as sensitive personal data. It is also removed if you uninstall the app.
